He was a French photographer known mainly for his photos of France, and I find them extremely beautiful. They really inspire me for some reason. I guess sometimes, there is no good reason for why something may inspire you. But I like how it tells you the quiet history of an empty street. I think this quote sums up my fascination with his work:
"The pictures that he made in the service of this concept are seductively and deceptively simple, wholly poised, reticent, dense with experience, mysterious, and true." - "Looking at Photographs" by John Szarkowski
I tend to find inspiration in architecture, and lines, and transform them into a garment. I just love Atget's work its peaceful to me. What do you think?
