Looking at popular faces in the blogosphere: Susie Bubble, Tavi or Rumi, just to name a few. Lately, everyone wants to be the next "it" blogger, and who wouldn't want to be? But blogging takes a lot of hardwork, dedication, time and passion! There's nothing wrong with wanting to be the next "it" blogger, BUT it won't come easily! Nowadays its become even more difficult to stand out in a sea of fashion bloggers. So how do you stand out from the crowd?
Find your purpose for blogging, Why do you want to blog? Make those intentions clear to yourself.
Is it to get a huge readership? Is it because you love to write? Is it because you want to have a space to share your thoughts? Whatever it may be, helping find the reason why your blogging can help you figure out how to run your blog, and create goals to work towards. Goals such as having a consistent blogging schedule can help you create a more purpose-driven blog.
Okay, now that you've decided your purpose in the blogosphere, what are you going to write about? Its important to figure out a few topics say 5 - 10 to topics that you love to write about or want to post about! Being able to focus on a few topics can help focus your ideas and create consistency. Its okay if you don't know what you want to write about yet. It can be fun to change up these topics until you feel like you've found the main categories you want to write about. But once you've figured it out, staying consistent is key.
Focus is important but without good content its wasted. This will be a bit more subjective, but to me good content is:
- Engaging - it gets your audience thinking, or getting them involved on the discussion. Ask questions.
- Inspiring - Really sharing things that make your readers want to try it, or something that is beautiful that makes them smile.
- Honest - This is when the blogger knows their own voice, and is honest about themselves, and sharing a part of themselves with the readers. Its about being yourself and sticking to it!
- Visual - Great photos that can help put your ideas into images, and really catch the eyes of the reader. Having a user-friendly layout where people can easily comment, or subscribe. And also having a clutter-free layout, where things are easy on the eyes.
The most Important thing of all is to stay true to yourself. This is something that I value a lot in bloggers and its the fact that everyone has a different, and unique voice to contribute. And without staying true to yourself, many blogs fall victim of sounding and looking the same and that's not fun at all. Its about showcasing who you are. Blog about the things you care about, and develop your own unique way of dressing. Sooner or later, it will pay off because someone else will value that you-niqueness to them and slowly many people will see that.
Blogging takes time, but its well worth it if you enjoy it, and stick to it!

Love the suggestions! I think consistency is the toughest, especially when you have a full time job, and try to maintain a life outside of work, and social networks/the internet.
I also love that we are all new bloggers here, and I like seeing bloggers "grow" together! It's too hard to compare ourselves to bloggers who have over 500 followers just yet - if we ever get there. I think I will be happy when I reach 100!
